The main differences between IC card and ID card are as follows:

1. On itself, ic has internal memory and can be read and written, while id card is a non-writable induction card with a fixed number;

2. In terms of characteristics, the ic card is small in size, easy to carry, and has high reliability. The id card is public and cannot be kept secret;

3. In terms of application, ic cards are usually used in financial, medical and other industries, while id cards are generally used as user identification in access control systems.

What are the working principles of IC card and ID card?

The ic card transmits a set of fixed wave rates to the built-in chip of the card. There is a set of series resonant circuit in the card, whose frequency is the same as the frequency emitted by the reader, and resonates with the resonant circuit. The charge in the card is electronically pumped to another capacitor for storage, and when the accumulated charge reaches 2V, this capacitor can be used as a power supply to provide working voltage for other circuits, and the card can receive data from the reader or transmit data go out.

Why IC cards need to do initialization (i.e. encryption), but ID cards do not?

1. When the IC card is in use, it must first pass the unique two-way key authentication between the IC card and the read-write device before it can carry out related work, so that the entire system has a very high security. Therefore, the IC card must be initialized (ie Encryption), in order to generate an unbreakable one-card system key in the factory IC card to ensure the safe distribution mechanism of the card system.

2. After the IC card is initialized and encrypted, it is passed to the user, and the customer uses the IC card issuing system to generate a private key for each user's system card. This ensures that the user cards issued by other user systems cannot be used by the system, ensures the specificity of the system, and thus ensures the safe use of the system.

3. The ID card is the same as the magnetic card, only the "card number" is used. The card has no security features other than the card number. Its "card number" is public and bare. Therefore, the ID card is an "inductive magnetic card". So basically it's not a question of whether initialization is required or not.
